Sandy had many careers before coming to Canon Collins. He started as a teacher in Cape Town before enjoying an award-winning career in television. He then spent time writing books and building some of the UK’s leading Fairtrade companies.

Gillian has 20 years’ experience working on education and community development projects in South Africa and Lesotho. She holds a PhD in Adult Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, where she studied on a Canon Collins Scholarship.

 

Vicky worked in project management in Zambia and higher education in Uganda, before pursuing her MA in African Studies at SOAS.  

 

Emily has worked in programme development and management for education initiatives in Canada, South Africa, Tanzania, and Rwanda. She holds an MA in African Studies from SOAS.

Roger has twelve years’ experience of financial management in the charity sector, including five years with a national disability charity. He is currently completing a degree in music composition and production at the Open University.  

 

Before joining the Trust, Heath was involved in developing a university scholarship programme in Timor-Leste. He has a BA in International Studies from Monash University in Australia.

Mirfat recently completed a BA in History at SOAS, where she specialised in African History. She has a keen interest in law and human rights.
