South African New Economics Network (SANE)
SANE researches and advocates a range of alternative economic policies and practices to eradicate poverty and promote sustainable development in South Africa. It has designed a pilot education project in the form of a short residential course to promote critical thinking by leaders in civil society, government, tertiary education and business on alternatives to the present South African economic system, which it sees as not achieving the desired aims.
Canon Collins Trust has contributed to the costs of running the course, and assisting some participants who could not otherwise afford to attend.
