Canon Collins E-News September 2018
Tuesday, October 2, 2018
London, United Kingdom

Dear Friends,

September is always a busy month at the Trust, with the assessment process for our main Scholarship Programme now fully underway and interviews taking place very soon. Leigh Day Scholarships for incoming fourth year LLB students at the University of Fort Hare and the University of the Western Cape are also now open for applications. Be sure to get applications in by Sunday 7th October.

Leigh Day Scholars are exceptional individuals who are exposed to a range of opportunities. After participating in the Canon Collins Moot Court Competition, we spoke to Nkosinathi Thema, final year LLB student at the University of the Western Cape, about his involvement and success at the African Human Rights Moot Court Competition, held this year in Ghana.

There are a number of exciting events taking place in the next month to save the date for!

  1. Friends of the Trust based in Zimbabwe may like to attend  a Scholarship information evening taking place in Harare on Wednesday 10th October
  2. Annual Alumni Seminar on Social Entrepreneurship will take place on November 17th.
  3. In the UK, we are pleased to announce High Commissioner Thembi Tambo will be holding an 'in conversation' piece with current and former Canon Collins scholars at our event in St. Paul's Cathedral to celebrate our work and the 10th anniversary of our partners at Equal Education. RSVP here
Thank you very much for your continued support.
